‘.. definition is not fixed, but continuously shifting in reciprocal relations and messy acts of becoming, Howard’s work depicts the kind of vulnerability which one is opened up to when boundaries are traversed. In her work, a desire to form connections between inner and outer worlds, to meaningfully engage with the world outside of oneself, seems ever-present. So too is the uncertainty and risk to the sense of self which this inherently involves..’
